African Eco-Safari {10 Days/9 Nights}

Day 1:- Arrival in Nairobi
Travelling gives you a chance to enjoy and learn about natureArrival Nairobi airport on board your flight. Met and greeted with our 'traditional style' welcome and escorted to a city hotel of your choice by African Propoor Tourism Foundation staff. Time permitting, afternoon is spent on a Nairobi city orientation sightseeing tour including a visit to the Kibera Slums one of the biggest slum in the sub-saharan region.

This evening, a safari briefing is conducted by your tour manager in readiness for your upcoming safari. Optional dinner at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. [Bed & Breakfast]. Overnight at Nairobi Safari Club.


Day 2:- Riuki Cultural Centre

After breakfast,drive to Riuki Cultural Centre which is a traditional village started for the purpose of creating awareness of the themes and practices of the people of central Kenya. It is involved in providing information relating to the traditional life styles, architecture, food, drinks, material culture and dances. Later return to Nairobi and have a free afternoon. Overnight and dinner at Nairobi Safari Club.

Day 3:- Cross Equator to Namunyak Conservation Area

After breakfast, drive through the semi-arid area of northern KENYA, meet the Pastoralist Samburu people as they graze their cattle and goats. Cross the Equator and arrive at Sarara Ecotourism Lodge in time for lunch. Namunyak is a vast Samburu community wilderness area, administered by the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust in close conjunction with the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The conservation area is an un-spoilt wilderness with few roads. The trust therefore emphasizes on walking excursions with local Samburu game scouts as guides. Take an afternoon game drive in search of the lions, elephants and crocodiles in the river. Overnight stay at Sarara Ecotourism Lodge. [Full Board]

Day 4:- Cross Equator to Namunyak Conservation Area

Full day viewing the big game and the rare species associated with the Northern Kenya; Reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra,Beisa oryx and Graceful gerenuk.. Morning and afternoon game drives. Some activities and excursions available on the conservancy are: day and night game drives, on which guests are accompanied by experienced guides;guided walks, especially bird watching; horse riding; camel safaris. Overnight stay in your lodge. Sarara Ecotourism Lodge. [Full Board]

Day 5:- Drive to Lake Nakuru

Depart for Lake Nakuru bird sanctuary via the scenic uplands road with weather permitting, panoramic views of the Africa's Great Rift Valley 600m below. Afternoon game/bird viewing around the Lake Nakuru shores which is a seasonal home to millions of flamingoes. Overnight stay in Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. [Full Board]

Day 6:- Drive to Lake Naivasha via Lake Nakuru

After breakfast drive towards lake Naivasha Country Club arriving at Elsamere Conservation Centre in time for lunch. Afternoon proceed on a bird-watching boat trip in the lake returning for dinner and overnight at Elsamere Cottages. [Full Board]

Day 7:- Proceed to Masai Mara Game Reserve

Depart Elsamere after breakfast and drive further on the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai land arriving Narok in time for lunch at your hotel. Afternoon visit of Maasai Education Community Centre where the group will receive a talk on lecture on the Maasai culture, followed by a visit to a local Maasai village. There will be perfomances by the villagers and guests and villagers will interact freely. Return to Narok Chambai Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8:- Maasai community project

Depart after breakfast and drive to one of the schools supported by African Propoor Tourism Development Centre where the group will undertake in part construction of a classroom (or other identified need). Enjoy lunch at the school while interacting with teachers/students. If time allows, a few guests will teach 1 or 2 English lessons and there may be a football or volleyball match with the students. Overnight in one of community owned campsites

Day 9:- Maasai Mara

Full day in Maasai Mara, Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant). Morning and afternoon game drives with an optional hot air balloon safari at dawn. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 10:- Depart

Depart Maasai Mara in the morning and drive back to Nairobi arriving Langata Centre for lunch. Afternoon at leisure/freshen up and park. Farewell dinner at The Carnivore Restaurant then transfer to the airport for onward flight back home. End of our services.
